Tutoring for each and every unique mind

My goal is to support each student by seamlessly integrating executive functioning skills into the tutoring experience. So, in addition to math problems and writing essays, we are also building study skills that will last a lifetime, including:
goal setting
time management
breaking large tasks down into manageable bite-sized piece
identifying blocks and finding resources
learning new tips and tools for organizing and synthesizing information
celebrating our wins
reflecting on how we could do it better next time
We get homework done while learning life-long study skills
My pedagogy

In a nutshell: we celebrate strengths and respond skillfully to challenges so that learning can feel enjoyable and rewarding.
Here's what parents can expect:
We create a safe, regulated environment. Presence is prioritized.
The student sets their goal every session, and we track it in our tracker.
We work one step at a time using clear, direct instructions.
Through attuned observation, I bring in tools to help students organize, comprehend, and synthesize information and successfully complete the task.
We stand up and shake it off if we need to. We don't stress mistakes!
We meet our goal and set new ones, celebrate progress every step of the way.
Small, steady wins add up to a student who trusts their mind and enjoys learning.
Every session has a rhythm; this consistent approach provides a very productive and focused learning container.

With over 12 years in international education, I have coached hundreds of students. I've seen how kids stumble and get stuck and what they need to get back on track.
I have worked as an educator, leader, and entrepreneur in a range of unique settings:
running a multi grade-level learning pod for students during the pandemic,
serving as English Department Head at two international schools,
creatively implementing international curricula,
coaching teenagers earning online high school diplomas,
and running countless creative writing workshops for teenagers

Getting started
Working alongside caregivers is key to setting up a supportive learning environment. Here are the basic steps:
Free Consultation Call
First Session
Meet Regularly
A call with a care-giver (likely you!) to discuss where school feels hard and what's been tried. This 20 minute conversation helps us decide if it's a good fit and agree on payment.
The student and I meet, online or in-person. I get to know their interests, strengths, how they think, and where they get stuck. We set goals together and I start building their personalized learning roadmap, which I share with the caregiver.
The student actively works towards their goals.
I provide tools and champion the learner.
Some goals are short and clear: get a diploma, pass an exam.
Other students find that consistent long-term support is helpful.
I support you until your goals are met!

We meet consistently -- preferably weekly or twice weekly. Consistency is key to developing a strong work ethic and encoding new skills and neural pathways. Goals are set and help us track progress; ownership of the process helps rebuild confidence.
Reach and Review Goals

They would finish each 1 hour session with a smile on their faces because of the amount of work they were able to do together, which helped to increase their confidence a lot."
- Francesa, international school mother of three!
